As a communications professional, I take a holistic approach to every project, employing critical thinking and careful judgement to provide quality writing, editing, and research that fulfills my clients’ needs and aligns with their goals and values.

My early experiences as a Registered Nurse taught me the importance of thoughtful, audience-centric communication, and the value of clear and concise messaging, grounded in collaboration, objectivity, and empathy. These critical lessons remained with me as I returned to university to study writing and communication, and they have continued to guide me throughout my professional life.

My breadth of experience means that I enjoy working with people from a broad range of backgrounds, interests, and perspectives to bring their projects to life. I am accustomed to partnering with experts from across the disciplines to distill complex language into simple prose that is accessible to a lay audience, without diminishing the scope and impact of the content.

I have edited and proofread hundreds of projects to bring clarity and consistency of voice to documents with multiple authors, align content with style and branding guidelines, and advise on image choices and document design. My feedback is thorough and constructive, but always diplomatic and respectful to the original author(s).

As a researcher, I enjoy nothing more than a deep dive into historical archives and other source materials. Some of my projects have included sourcing historical images for academic publications or institutional milestones, compiling profiles of companies and individuals for clients, and tracing the evolution of the graphic novel form throughout the 1960s and 70s. I can prepare thorough briefs and primers on a range of subjects, and as a fact-checker, I will rigorously review your piece for accuracy and originality.
